From 27 February to 2 March, Orenburg will host the 27th All-Russian Festival "Orenburg Down Shawl". Its organisers are the Government of the Orenburg Region, the regional Ministry of Culture and External Relations and the regional philharmonic.
Orenburg down shawls have long been the calling card of our region, and the festival is professional folk art in all its glory.
A tradition since 1988
The festival has been held every year since 1988, and Lyudmila Zykina herself stood at its origins. Over the years, the Volga, Ural, Omsk and Kuban folk choirs, the Pyatnitsky State Choir, the Igor Moiseyev State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble and other talented performers have appeared at it.
This year, as always, spectators and guests of the festival can look forward to performances by well-known Russian soloists and groups of the most varied folk genres.
The grand opening of the festival will take place on 27 February at 19:00 at the regional philharmonic.
