"The Second Breath of the Orenburg Gossamer Shawl" is the title of an exhibition by Orenburg knitter Ekaterina Godovova, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and a pupil of the famous 20th-century down knitter O. A. Fyodorova.
The title was not chosen by chance: alongside traditional shawls, the exhibition presents the author's own interpretations on the theme of the down shawl. E. V. Godovova is an innovative artist who is constantly looking for promising new forms. Besides her works, the exhibition includes items by her students.
The exhibition aims to show that the down gossamer shawl can be used in clothing for young people, and to emphasise once again the role of traditional folk craft works in contemporary art.
