The grand opening will take place on 27 February at the Orenburg Philharmonic. The programme includes choral performances of folk songs as well as folk dances.

The festival was created in 1988 by People's Artist of the USSR, singer Lyudmila Zykina, People's Artist of the USSR, composer Grigory Ponomarenko, and Honoured Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, director of the Orenburg State Academic Russian Folk Choir Igor Golikov.
