The Journey Continues!
The exhibition "Orenburg Down Shawl" opened at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kathmandu – more than 30 items by Orenburg craftswomen.
The Orenburg down shawl has "set off" on a journey again. This time the exhibition "Orenburg Down Shawl" visited the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. It opened on Tuesday at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture and presented more than 30 items by the best craftswomen of the Orenburg region.
The exhibition opened with a fashion show: models demonstrated the beauty and uniqueness of Orenburg down items. The well-known Orenburg artist Albina Kalvina held a master class for everyone interested and shared the secrets of the Orenburg down shawl.
The people of Kathmandu truly appreciated the works of Orenburg craftswomen – after all, Nepal produces the famous down scarves and shawls, pashminas. They are made from the down of the high-mountain Changra goat, which is valued as highly as the down of the Orenburg goat.
