Modern fashion is unpredictable. Sometimes it "rushes ahead", and models appear in materials that would seem unsuitable for wearing; sometimes it retreats into the past, and forgotten looks come to the fore.

A confirmation of this is the poncho, which came to the European continent from Latin America. This sleeveless garment, an intermediate option between a coat and a knitted jacket, was in fashion in the 1970s. Today history repeats itself. And the most famous designers, presenting women's clothing for 2016, did not ignore the good old poncho.

An openwork goat-down poncho

down ponchoModern designers offer ponchos in different materials. We, however, want to draw your attention to those knitted from natural down.

Openwork down ponchos compare favourably with those sewn from woven fabrics or knitted from thick wool yarn. Their main advantages include:

- lightness,

- elegance,

- inimitability.

Women are warm and cosy in a down poncho. Soft, almost weightless clothing does not restrict movement and does not crease the blouses, turtlenecks or cardigans worn under it.

Down warms not only the body but also the soul. A young woman dressed in an openwork poncho, without realising it, becomes more tender, more affectionate, more easy-going. The finest fabric with its beautiful interlacing of stitches has a beneficial effect on a person at the subconscious level.

A beautiful look in a haze of down

openwork ponchoDown ponchos help create striking looks. A young woman in a snow-white outfit appears as a "winter" beauty: delicate but rather "cool", reserved and alluring.

Young women in coloured ponchos – blue, lilac, turquoise, peach – look different. They are more relaxed and not as cold as "snow queens".

The weightless wrap will also be appropriate in spring, when the sun comes out but the ground has not yet warmed up. The poncho will keep the chill away and adorn its owner.

What to wear with a knitted poncho

Down items, like other clothing, should be chosen taking into account the colour of your hair and skin, personal preferences, fashion requirements and how they combine with the things worn at the same time.

Most members of the fair sex understand the subtleties of the art of dressing perfectly. It will not be difficult for them to put together a striking ensemble crowned with an openwork fluffy wrap.

Couturiers suggest wearing an openwork poncho with blouses (turtlenecks) tucked into narrow trousers or belted at the waist. On the feet, in their opinion, there should be either boots or ankle boots, but necessarily with high stiletto heels.

Young women are simply charming when their slender silhouettes can be seen through the openwork pattern of their outer garment, a down poncho.

white ponchoGiven that the outer garment does not completely hide what is underneath, you should be very careful in choosing the colour of your clothes. So, if you want to show yourself in all your beauty, choose a brightly coloured blouse and trousers. For example, a black set of "underlayers" is ideal for any light poncho. Cornflower blue will go perfectly with a pale-blue "wrap", and purple with a soft lilac one.

You should not wear a poncho with skirts and dresses. This garment needs trousers, jeans, leggings. One cannot but agree with the designers about high stilettos. Women's legs on high, thin heels really do look very good. But this does not mean that the stiletto is the only heel that goes with a poncho. Shoes should above all be comfortable. Only then can you wear elegant things with dignity and grace. And openwork down ponchos are exactly that.
