A bride starts preparing for the wedding ceremony several months in advance. She needs to buy or sew a dress and choose suitable accessories: gloves, shoes, jewellery.
The wedding dress should emphasise the bride's figure. The young woman will stay in her wedding outfit all day. In it she will go to register the marriage at the registry office, then perhaps go to church for the wedding ceremony. As a rule, before the banquet with friends, the newlyweds go out into nature. In the afternoon the feast begins, which lasts far more than an hour. The young wife should be comfortable in all the conditions of the festivities. At the same time, she must remain irresistible almost around the clock.
During the day, the setting and the weather change. So, besides a comfortable dress, it is worth providing some warm clothing that can warm the bride and complement her magnificent outfit on the happiest day of her life.
There is such an outfit
Openwork items made of natural goat down will help solve the problem. Fortunately, modern bridal salons offer brides luxurious pelerines for every taste and budget. In a down wrap, a young woman will be warm and cosy.
Just imagine what can happen without a delicate warming pelerine. From the cold wind (or frost), the bride's skin may turn red or blue. In the photographs (and no wedding ceremony is complete without photos and video), the bride will look "hunched", her shoulders will involuntarily rise, her neck will shorten, and the overall look will be spoiled.
Young women in down wraps look completely different. They coquettishly tilt their heads and smile. The pictures show their wonderful mood and the absence of any discomfort.
Pelerines come in different kinds
The choice of pelerines for special occasions is quite large. Some barely cover the shoulders, others reach the waist, and others are big enough to cover not only the shoulders but the head too.
The choice should depend on the weather. For a winter church wedding, a snow-white pelerine with a hood will be indispensable. Firstly, the head will be covered, as Christian rules require of women in church. Secondly, the bride will stay warm throughout the sacrament of the spouses' union before the Creator.
Winter down pelerines are made denser and longer, given that the young woman will in any case have to spend part of the time outdoors.
"Summer" wraps look completely different. Such accessories are knitted very fine and airy and decorated with interesting openwork patterns.
A weightless pelerine will not slip off the shoulders at the most inopportune moment if it is securely fastened. Ordinary buttons are out of place on a light down item. Satin ribbons in the colour of the down, light hair clips or decorated pins, as well as crocheted buttons matching the main yarn, are suitable here.
Most wedding dresses are white. But the pelerine can be different. A bright one will emphasise the bride's extravagance, a delicate one her modesty. If you can find an item in the colour of the bride's eyes or hair, she will look simply enchanting.
Should you give a pelerine as a wedding gift?
Down items are wonderful gifts in themselves. People give their loved ones down warm shawls, mittens, socks, stoles, scarves and so on.
In order not to make a mistake with a wedding gift, you need to know the bride well and be aware of her preparations. In other words, a bridesmaid may well give as a gift a down pelerine. Only she knows that the young woman herself is not thinking of buying this very useful item of clothing. A timely offering in the form of a soft, warm bundle that turns into the most delicate wrap will surely be to the bride's liking. Those who have no idea of the outfits the young wife has prepared should think of another gift.
