Back in the distant 18th century, more than 200 years ago, needlewomen in the Orenburg Region began making yarn from the down of a special breed of goats. It is worth noting that the goats whose down produced yarn of excellent quality live only in these regions. Down yarn – yarn made from the down of these unique animals – immediately received several names for its invaluable qualities. Many call it "soft gold", and most often "the golden fleece".
