Storing Down Items
No special storage conditions need to be created; the only but important point is to protect the item from moths. To avoid unpleasant situations, it is enough to treat the shawl with any moth spray before long-term storage. Bunches of dried lavender wrapped in a piece of gauze, or grated laundry soap, are also an excellent remedy. Moths cannot stand the smell of wormwood, geranium, tobacco, St John's wort and dried orange peel. Down shawls are best stored rolled into a cylinder to avoid creases as much as possible.
