The Orenburg Down Shawl Conquered Paris Fashion Week
Valentin Yudashkin showed the collection "The Orenburg Down Shawl in Silhouettes" at Paris Fashion Week – tops, sweaters and shorts made from shawls.
The famous Russian fashion designer with a worldwide reputation, Valentin Yudashkin, pleasantly surprised the audience of the annual Paris Fashion Week by presenting the result of a bold and unusual experiment. The couturier took the Orenburg down shawl as a basis and turned it into everyday wardrobe items – sweaters, shorts, evening dresses and blouses – changing its colour and shape. The collection was called "The Orenburg Down Shawl in Silhouettes".
For all the boldness and unprecedented nature of the idea, the result was stunning. The models turned out incredibly beautiful and attracted close attention from the audience. Yudashkin himself, who received many enthusiastic responses both to his concept and to the collection as a whole, said:
"These are no longer shawls, these are tops, and we dyed them, we changed the colour, made bombers, sweaters, shorts – we showed that the Orenburg down shawl can take a different form."
The fashion designer and art director Galina Yudashkina showed the experiment backstage, including to Channel One correspondents – the story was aired in one of the news broadcasts.
