How Long Can a Down Shawl Be Kept in a Jar
The question of storing down shawls and their durability concerns many owners of such items today. Some simply want to extend the "lifespan" of their shawl; others, perhaps, want to leave a gift to their descendants that keeps its presentable look. In any case, the topic remains relevant, so we set out to study the methods of storing down items, of which there are many.
One of the most reliable methods is considered to be storing a down shawl or warm shawl in a tightly closed jar, most often a three-litre one. Various articles on this method mention very different storage periods and end results. Our team managed to find a kind of "time capsule" – more precisely, a down warm shawl put into a jar more than 20 years ago. In the video below we carry out an experiment: we open the jar, examine the item that has been stored for such a long time and draw conclusions about how reliable this method is.
