Unveiling of a Monument to the Goat Provider During the Down Shawl Days
A bronze monument to the goat provider by the Ulyanov couple was unveiled in the Orenburg Down Shawl Industrial Park.
As part of the Down Shawl Days, a monument to the goat provider was unveiled in Orenburg. The goat deserved to be immortalised: it was the goat that helped the people of the Orenburg region survive the hard war years, the post-war years and the perestroika years too.
The author of the bronze goat is the well-known Orenburg creative couple, the Ulyanovs. The dark bronze goat with long strands of down is covered with a golden down shawl. The pattern on the shawl is an image of Orenburg, and the edge, like that of all Orenburg down items, ends in scallops.
A little bird sits on the goat's back – some have already nicknamed it Chizhik-Pyzhik. The bird is a symbol of the lightness of the Orenburg shawl, which lightly and quickly flew around and conquered the whole world. And the goat is not bored with the bird – she has someone to talk to!
The monument is located in the Orenburg Down Shawl Industrial Park at Pereselentsev Street 1/1. Guests and residents of Orenburg can take photos with the goat and make a wish by rubbing her nose, shawl or bird.
