The Orenburg Down Shawl Days Are Among Russia's Top Ten Festivals!

The analytical agency TurStat has prepared a ranking of the best festivals in Russia for autumn 2017. With joy and pride in our region, we report that the "Orenburg Down Shawl Days" festival made the top ten in the country!

Through the efforts of enthusiasts who have preserved and promoted the down-knitting craft for many years, the Orenburg region has made itself loudly known throughout the country. The result is a distinctive, unique and truly grand celebration that has won universal recognition and touched people's hearts.

We would like to express special thanks to the director of the Orenburg Regional Museum of Fine Arts, Yuri Eduardovich Komlev , and to the head of the Orenburg Down Shawl gallery, Irina Vladimirovna Bushukhina. It is thanks to them that the down-knitting craft has been and remains the calling card and heritage of our region, and the industry remains competitive and in demand. An industry that people know about and talk about.

Thanks also to everyone who contributed to this grand festival: the participants, the organisers and exhibitors, the authors of conference papers, and everyone who talks about the problems of preserving the down-knitting craft of the Orenburg region and, above all, finds solutions to them.
