The New Year in All the Colours of the Rainbow!
Shalnoy Orenburg has started dyeing hand-knitted down shawls itself: how our coloured shawls differ from cheap fakes.
We have decided on a bold experiment: coloured down items will be added to our shop's range.
Why the experiment is bold
Genuine Orenburg down shawls originally come in only two colours – grey and white: these are the natural colours of goat down.
Coloured "goat down" products, which have always flooded the market, are mostly crude fakes that discredit the name of the Orenburg down shawl. If you are offered a coloured stole for 1,000 roubles, know that its real price is no more than 300, and it has nothing to do with the famous down shawl. The patterns of such items are monotonous – waves and braids – and the quality, of course, leaves much to be desired. Such pseudo-shawls are bought up from visiting migrant workers at knock-down prices and resold to trusting buyers. People nicknamed them "uzbechka".
But, as we know, demand creates supply. And people increasingly want to wear our shawls, with their rich texture and pleasant feel, not only in the classic grey and white tones.
How we dye the shawls
We decided to dye down shawls ourselves. We consulted technologists for a long time and chose a special dye that does not destroy the structure of the delicate down yarn and gently colours it in the desired shade (the document for the dye used is TU 2461-001-80672676-2007).
- The craftswoman knits a white down shawl – this takes from several weeks to several months.
- The finished shawl is dyed with a durable and gentle dye.
How our shawls differ from fakes
- Our shawls come with a quality guarantee.
- The price of coloured shawls differs little from the cost of white and grey ones.
- The dye is durable and eco-friendly: such a shawl does not fade and does no harm to health.
- Coloured items keep all the properties of our classic down shawls – lightness, warmth, softness and health benefits.
- The shawls are dyed in one colour only, without colour transitions or gradients.
- And the main difference from Uzbek counterfeits is the complex geometry and rich classic pattern: our shawls are not just bright but also amazingly elegant.
We look forward to seeing you shopping! Don't miss the chance to treat yourself and your loved ones to truly high-quality coloured items made from legendary goat down. Light blue, blue, green, pink, yellow, red and purple shawls are ready to become a bright accent of your winter wardrobe – to adorn, warm and protect you from the frost.
