The Orenburg Down Shawl Wins Fame in the USA Again
The photo chronicle "The Beginning of the Down Path" about craftswomen from Tatarsky Saraktash was recognised by the jury of The Best of Photojournalism 2018 contest in the USA.
The Orenburg down shawl, long known and recognised all over the world, "made a splash" in the USA again last week.
We are talking about the international photojournalism contest The Best of Photojournalism 2018. A Russian correspondent presented an original black-and-white photo chronicle, "The Beginning of the Down Path". The series of photos showing the stages of work of down-knitting craftswomen from the village of Tatarsky Saraktash received special recognition from the jury.
The craftswomen themselves, who became the heroines of the photo chronicle, are very glad that such projects exist and were happy to take part. And the "Orenburg down shawl" brand once again received worldwide recognition, proving that the craft is relevant and continues to develop.
