Press Conference at the Orenburg Museum of Fine Arts. Results of the Exhibition of Orenburg Shawls in Italy

The Orenburg Museum of Fine Arts summed up the results of the exhibition "Interweavings of History. Orenburg Shawls from Prato to the Urals" in Italy.

On 24 May, the Orenburg Museum of Fine Arts held a press conference on the results of a large exhibition of Orenburg down shawls in Italy. A large Russian delegation, including the Shalnoy Orenburg company, took part in the project "Interweavings of History. Orenburg Shawls from Prato to the Urals".

Results and impressions

At the conference, guests were introduced to the results of the exhibition, which is running at 8 museum venues in Tuscany until 22 July inclusive, and the participants shared their impressions.

Yuri Eduardovich Komlev, director of the Orenburg Museum of Fine Arts, and Irina Vladimirovna Bushukhina, head of the Orenburg Down Shawl gallery, stressed the significance of the project and thanked their Italian colleagues for the high level of organisation. Anna Sovetova, head of the "House of Down Fashion", showed guests her collection, which had also been seen in Prato.

One of the managers of Shalnoy Orenburg, Nikolai Andreevich Zakharov, also spoke at the press conference. He too noted the importance of the event for the down-knitting craft of the Orenburg region:

"As long as there are events like this and people who care, the craft will live."

The tricolour shawl

A patriotic note was added to the press conference by the showing of an Orenburg down shawl in the form of the "tricolour", knitted by an honoured craftswoman with vast experience.

The Italian colleagues and visitors to the exhibition in Tuscany were also left with good impressions. A full report on all the venues will appear in our new section, which we will launch very soon.
