Opening of the Exhibition Project “Orenburg Shawls from Prato to the Urals”. Fashion Show at the Prato Municipality

How the exhibition “Orenburg Shawls from Prato to the Urals” opened in Prato: a fashion show of Shalnoy Orenburg down shawls at Palazzo Buonamici.

The exhibition project “Orenburg Shawls from Prato to the Urals” opened in the Italian city of Prato with a ceremony and a large fashion show of Orenburg down products. Our company became one of the key participants of the project and provided 57 handmade down items for the exhibition.

A show that set the tone for the whole project

The main event of the evening was a show of products from Orenburg, including those made by Shalnoy Orenburg. Models came out to the audience in down shawls, gossamer shawls and warm shawls — and the guests greeted them with sincere delight. From the first minutes it was clear what the mood of the whole large-scale event would be.

A ceremony at the historic Palazzo Buonamici

The opening took place at the municipality — Palazzo Buonamici, a building with a rich history. The walls inside are decorated with 200-year-old frescoes, and in the corridors and halls you can see paintings from the 15th century. We were especially pleased that the project was launched in such a setting.

The fashion show once again demonstrated how beautiful and graceful Orenburg down shawlsare. It also proved something else: these items combine easily with the most varied elements of a woman's wardrobe and suit almost any look — you can see this for yourself by watching our video reports.

Eight venues in Tuscany

Ahead is a story about all the exhibitions of this large show in Italy. Our products were presented at all 8 venues without exception. In some museums the staff took a creative approach and organically incorporated the shawls into the main exhibition.

On the Russian side, the project involved the most prominent and active figures of culture and art of the Orenburg Region: the director of the Orenburg Museum of Fine Arts Yuri Eduardovich Komlev, the head of the “Orenburg Down Shawl” Gallery Irina Vladimirovna Bushukhina, and designer Anna Sovetova, who also presented her collection.
