The Tale of the Magic Ball of Yarn
Another fairy tale about the Orenburg down shawl. This time, about a magic ball of down yarn!
A little ball of yarn sits and thinks: “Oh, once I was needed by people: I showed Ivan Tsarevich the way to Elena the Fair, and I led another Ivan the way to the Thrice-Ninth Kingdom
And now? I sit and grieve. I'll roll along the road, maybe I'll meet someone.” It rolls and rolls, no one comes its way, it is already getting dark and scary. Suddenly lights appeared ahead. The little ball rolled faster. Rolling closer, it saw little houses and trees. Suddenly dogs barked, the little ball got scared and jumped onto the first porch it came across.
The door opened, and a very kind grandmother appeared on the threshold and said joyfully: “How long I have waited for you! My old man's socks are worn through, my granddaughter has no mittens, and winter is coming soon.”
“How wonderful that grandmother took me home! Now I can help people again!” thought the little ball.
