This Orenburg Shawl Was Knitted by 40 Craftswomen!
“The Friendship Shawl” is a Shalnoy Orenburg experiment: one Orenburg down shawl was knitted by about 40 craftswomen. We publish their names.
“Too many cooks spoil the broth”? Not when professionals take on the job — this has been proven in practice!
Dear friends, Shalnoy Orenburg has carried out an interesting experiment, which we called “The Friendship Shawl”. As you may have guessed from the name, this shawl was created not by one knitter, and not even by 2, but by about 40 craftswomen!
How “The Friendship Shawl” was created
The story of the shawl's creation is in the photographs before you. Please note: the pictures were taken in a fully working environment so that everything would be as authentic as possible. The knitters did not prepare or pose specially — we photographed them right at their workplaces, without interrupting their work.
The result, dear friends, is also before you — for you to judge. And we consider it our duty to name here everyone who took part in creating “The Friendship Shawl”.
