Light grey with a slight lilac sheen, the shawl “Sky Before the Storm” really does resemble the sky at the moment a storm is about to break. It is a hand-knitted down item made of goat down with viscose silk, 120×120 cm in size.
The shawl's pattern is simple and austere: the photo shows openwork diamonds scattered over the fabric and a border with small points. At the same time the knitting is noticeably denser than that of classic gossamer shawls, so the shawl turned out very warm.
The grey colour is one of its main advantages. It is more practical than white: the item needs washing less often, which means it will last longer. The shawl looks good over a bright dress, as in the photo, and calmly complements a coat or down jacket in the cold season.
Wear it on your shoulders, tie it over your head or around your neck — the 120×120 cm format allows all of this. When washing is needed, choose hand washing in cool water and drying on a horizontal surface.
Why this item is special
01
Intricate openwork pattern
The ornament is knitted by hand and requires great precision in every row.
02
About two months of work
From preparing the down to the last stitch, the item goes through a long manual process.
03
Hand-knitted on needles
The shawl is knitted without machines — by the craftswoman's hands.
04
Living individuality
Pattern details and density may vary slightly — a natural sign of handwork.
Material and details
The item is made of unique goat down and a strong base thread — cotton or viscose silk, depending on the item. The base thread helps the shawl keep its shape, stay light and last longer.
