The Hanging Gardens of Semiramis were considered one of the wonders of the world, and the stole “Garden of Semiramis” is named after them for its lush plant pattern. It is a white hand-knitted item of goat down with viscose silk, measuring 150×60 cm.
In the photo the stole is thrown over the shoulders on top of a blue dress. Against the rich background the knitting is clearly visible: openwork motifs resembling leaves and branches, stripes of small diamonds and a border with sharp points framing the neckline and the ends of the stole.
The compact size makes the stole convenient for every day. It is easy to wrap around the neck under a coat, throw over the shoulders in a cool hall or use to cover the head in windy weather. With an evening dress it looks festive; with business wear, restrained and feminine.
Handwork likes careful handling: wash the stole by hand in cool water and dry it spread out on a towel.

To make your shawl last for years
1 · Washing
Hand wash in cool water with a mild wool detergent. Do not soak the shawl for long.
2 · Wringing
Gently press out the water with your palms. Do not twist, or the shawl will lose its shape.
3 · In a towel
Wrap the shawl in a dry towel and press gently to remove excess moisture.
4 · Drying
Dry flat, away from radiators and sunlight. Straighten the pattern by hand.
